Mental Health@Work
Every year, approximately one in five adult Australians experience a mental health problem
Despite this, people are still uninformed about and fearful of mental health issues. Many suffer mental illness for a long time before they seek help.
Diversity@Work Consultants have been accredited by the Centre for Mental Health Research, and have adapted its Mental Health First Aid Course to a one-day format. Mental Health First Aid is the initial help given to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional help is sought.
The course aims to combat the ignorance and stigma associated with mental health issues and to empower participants to provide appropriate support to colleagues, clients, family members. These skills are important for anyone working in the public arena.
